The HYSKORE number 30291 field target support has been designed to be both rugged and versatile. The first thing you notice are the 2 sets of sockets. One set is designed to fit standard 2 by 4 lumber and the other set designed to fit standard 1 by 2 lumber. This way, whatever you have handy will work. The wide stance of the base makes it a stable target support, on the other hand, if the wind picks up or other conditions develop you may want to add additional support. There are 2 ways to do this. First, you could purchase ground stakes from HYSKORE, the ground stakes are not included and are an optional purchase. Or better yet, the easiest thing to do is to get some long lag bolts, preferably 3/8 inch by either 6 inch or 8 inch and just drive them into the holes and this will add additional support. The base is constructed from angle iron which means that you can add a couple 2 by 4 sections as shown. This will greatly increase stability. To do this, simply remove the screws that are holding the angles to the base and replace them with quarter inch by 2 1/2 inch nuts and bolts. And now you're in business.
